Do you like this Greens version of my Over The moon blanket as much as it’s being loved here in CrochetObjet studio? Do you remember Elicheva? A Monday participant who (dedicatedly) crocheted the original Over The Moon blanket? She made it and now you can make it too, because I just uploaded this yarn pack to Etsy.

So, after Elicheva finished her ‘job’ she said it was such an enjoyable work that she wants to make another one for herself/ family. But she thought of making it in another color - way.the cotton wallShe was standing in front of this cotton wall and asked: what if I go with a few different Greens for the circles? Can you imagine my face? I LOVE Greens in all shapes, depths and sizes. ALL the GREENS please. greensIf you follow me on IG you know how I love sharing my ‘GREEN drawer situation’ with you.

She said she wants to create 6 different columns of Greens for the circles and then frame it all with one color. At this point, we didn’t know yet that it’d also be a shade of Green. We started by choosing the Greens and place them in their ,right order’ and she started to crochet the circles. A week or two weeks after, she came with a pile of Green crochet circles and asked us to help her choosing the background/ framing color. We discussed it here together with Monday girls, for a few minutes. Over The Moon - Greens VersionWe tried a few different options, but once the Ebony option landed on the table, next to her squares it was clear. That’s the color. We all loved this colour choice SO much. At this point I knew it will make a GORG yarn pack. I shared my thoughts with the girls.

Over The Moon - Greens VersionAs the weeks went by and the beautiful Greens WIP (work in progress) started to come into a blanket, I realised that I would love to add a yarn pack with this colour way to Etsy once it’s done.  I shared pictures of it on social media and got so many questions about it. You loved it and asked whether I’ll add this pack to my shop. And I did. The GREENS yarn pack / kit is now available here.

Over The Moon - Greens VersionThis week I’ve been teaching 3 groups, on Monday and Tuesday. Ended my teaching week with a joyful Knit Night on Tuesday, pretty late. Wednesday was a VERY productive studio day, In which I made the styling and took photos of the new yarn pack. Next I edited and uploaded it to my Etsy shop. But it wasn’t just that. I also added the new colour info into the PDF file. I’ll tell you more about it in a minute.

Over The Moon – Greens Version pack

Over The Moon - Greens VersionIn the new yarn pack / kit you will get 14 cotton balls as seen in the picture: 7 balls of Ebony colour, 2 balls of Matisse and 1 ball of each: SeaFoam, Grass, Lime Green, Mint & Jade (from top down, right to left).

You will have the option to choose whether you want to purchase the cotton balls with or without the pattern. If you already purchased the Over The Moon pattern you can just add the yarn pack to your cart.

It was already late in the evening when I finished uploading the new pack, but I had one more thing to do. I wanted to make sure you will know exactly what to do in case you want to make the GREENS version. Over The Moon - Greens VersionSo, I added an extra page onto the PDF file on the Over The Moon pattern in which I explain exactly how many circles you need to crochet from each colour for this new colour-way. So, in case you go for the yarn pack OR you use any other yarn of your choice, you’ll be able to follow the new circles layout. Which as you can see is very simple.

If you have already purchased the pattern and would like to get the updated version with the additional GREENS version instructions, please contact me via Etsy convo and I’ll email it to you with much love.Over The Moon - Greens VersionHere’s what you do if you go for the GREENS version: and it is all included in the pattern as well. You will have to crochet 8 circles from each of the following colours: Matisse, SeaFoam, Grass, Lime Green, Mint & Jade. Then using colour Ebony you will turn them into squares and join them. The full picture on the PDF file will guide you with the lay out.

⋅⋅⋅

Here’s a video tutorial that will help you with the joining.

You will frame your blanket using colour Ebony while at the very last round you will use colour Matisse again. That’s why you get 2 balls of Matisse in the yarn pack.

I hope you like this colour way as much as we do. If you have any questions regarding making the blanket double or changing the colours in the pack, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment. Your question might be of an interest to someone else. ⋅⋅⋅
