Meanwhile here
I had a little medical issue that I’m gradually recovering from. Last week I wasn’t able to host our weekly sessions. That allowed me to do what I have tried for so many times in the past: finally writing down my Crochet Fern Leaf pattern in English. This is because I knew it’ll make you happy and also I wanted this pattern to be available in my shop for a long long time.
This pattern was available in Hebrew from Nov 2016 and we had so many happy moments with it here, so I can’t wait to have you all enjoying it as well. We made tons of fern greenery in our local meetings including this breathtaking bride bouquet. Now it’s finally available in English and I can’t tell you how happy I am.
Some of you were waiting for it and I thought you might find it helpful at this time of the year. It can easily make a unique addition on your gift wrapping or maybe a holiday decoration. Here is some important info you might want to know before starting making your Fern greenery creations. But if you just want to jump into your Fern making, pattern is available here.
Crochet FERN LEAF Pattern
I designed my Fern Leaf back in Nov 2016, inspired by the incredible Japanese textile artist Jung Jung. Her outstanding work inspired me to create my own botanical crochet collection. The Chamomile Bouquet and the Chrysanthemum Flower patterns are available on my Etsy shop plus some more greenery available as free patterns here on my blog. I’ll put a list with links for you, at the end of this post, including all the patterns.
Level
The instructions are written step by step following with pictures, to make it easier for you to follow. You have to be familiar with the basic crochet stitches. Watch “how to single crochet / half double crochet” on Youtube to get some help if needed. In this work you will have to work ONLY into the upper loop of each stitch. As with all my patterns this one to, is written using US crochet terms.
Approx 14 yard, 5 gr’ of a 4 ply sport weight cotton yarn. The Fern Leaf as seen in the pictures is made out of Granny Kit cotton Col Pine Forest. You might like to try making it out of stash yarns, Please feel free to play with different yarns.
Suggested hook
If you use a simmilar 4 ply sport weight cotton yarn, like mine, use a 2 mm crochet hook.
Gauge
27 sts & 32 rows = 4 x 4″ (10 x 10 cm) measured on sc sts. Please play with it, you might like to make it in a different gauge. Sure it will come out perfectly beautiful.

A very beautiful fern leaf pattern and I really like the silvery green colour you have used to crochet it. The Chrysanthemums are just beautiful too!
