Just before I went out, I uploaded a new video tutorial to my YouTube channel. A Chunky Benji crochet tutorial. In the new video I teach how to crochet the first rounds on the body. Chunky Benji pattern is crocheted in the round, from the bottom up. In the video I show how to crochet the first three rounds of the body, from the very first step. I created a close up video to make it clear and easy to follow. I show how to start from the foundation chain and crochet the first round around it. Then we will crochet the next two rounds and create the oval shape which is the base of the body of this squishy friend.

Chunky Benji pattern is a really loved pattern here in my local studio as well as in my Etsy shop. Many of the girls here made it for gifting someone loved in their life. It was originally made out of a Chunky wool, the Cyrano by De rerum natura. But, as explained in the video, we made it using so many different yarns and found out that you can really get creative. Try using any yarn you have in stash. Just make sure to use a smaller hook than what the yarn is calling for. Because you don’t want to have holes between the stitches. With that said, you also want to keep your Chunky Benji soft and squishy. So don’t go too small with your hook and make sure to create a soft crochet fabric.

So the first Chunky Benji crochet video tutorial is now available in the internet space for free, waiting for you for whenever you need it. I hope you will find it helpful. If you do then please don’t forget to give it the thumbs up and if you haven’t already please subscribe to my channel. It can help me a lot. More of those Chunky Benji video tutorials are coming your way. If there are more videos that you would like to see from me, please let me know. I am happy to support you along with video tutorials that will help you learn. I just love teaching. Thanks so much for watching my videos and for visiting me here in my blog.

A big Thank you to my lovely weekly girls for making my Chunky Benji pattern and for providing these beautiful pictures that I could use for this blog post. Elicheva, Ronit, Mandi, Rachel, Vered and Yael THANK YOU! Here are just a few of those that were made by Elicheva. These are all gifts she made for her family. As you can see she made her Chunky Benji’s without legs just because she liked it this way, xxMo
