From the pictures above, you can probably tell that we’ve been busy here getting ready for my Chamomile & Sage class in the upcoming Winter Bloom retreat with mYak fibers. Well, this is the first time that I will be teaching an international class. Can’t tell you how excited I am. We all are, here in my little CrochetObjet corner.

I moved my computer and put it on top of the centre table and in front of the ‘colour therapy wall’ to welcome the participants and make them feel like they are visiting my studio. Eyal helped me to place it on top of a box and put it a little bit higher for a better composition. This is what you will see if you are joining our zoom class. And you will also see my head in front of this wall. From my phone screen you will be able to see my hands very close, crocheting and teaching how to.

If you are not new here, you already know that I’ve been teaching knitting and crochet groups for years and you also know how I love teaching. But up until now all my classes were local and most of them are hosting more or less the same people for years. Even though I’m getting ready and excited before each and every one of my weekly classes, it is still like ‘playing in my home base’.

During the early days of the pandemic, when we were all in lock down, I did a few zoom classes. But it was quite a short experience and again, with local knitters and crocheters. This upcoming event will be my first international teaching experience and I am EXCITINGLY getting ready for it.

A few of my LOVELY students signed up for my class which made my heart sing. I have the best ladies here in my weekly workshops and I’m not kidding about that. NOT AT ALL!! They received their beautiful kits this week and brought them here to our meeting to show me. Paola and the mYak team made such gorgeous kits for my Chamomile & Sage class. They even printed my floral wreath on a beautiful bag to go along with the kit. They will have kits available in their online shop a few days after the Winter Bloom retreat.

SO, during the last couple of days we have been getting ready for my Chamomile & Sage class that will take place on Sunday at 12pm NYC. In two days time. I’ll be teaching how to crochet the Chamomile flowers and Sage leaves, which is a new pattern I designed especially for this event. This pattern is the beginner version of my Chamomile bouquet pattern. The Winter Bloom virtual retreat was organized by Paola from mYak fibers with so much love and care for each and every detail and I am very honored to be part of it. Watch this live on Instagram if you want to see the kits and all the beautiful presentation for the Winter Market that goes along with the virtual retreat.

I have to say, for me, since it is my first time teaching internationally then I am very happy to have it set up with Paola. She makes it feel so inviting, warm and cozy. It feels like working with a good old friend. Less on the formal or distant side. We spoke on video calls every other day if needed. If she or I had something to ask, it was always so easy to set up a video call and just talk for a few minutes. We also had lunch together the other day, really, NYC and Ramat Gan never felt so close 🙂Getting ready for my Chamomile & Sage classAnyway, what I’m trying to say is that I am VERY excited for this upcoming creative adventure and that my heart is full of these special feelings although I was very nervous about the setup, especially the lighting (it’ll be 7 pm in Israel when we start). Luckily a good friend of mine helped us with the lighting setup and I feel more relaxed and calm about this now and SO ready to kick it off. So, wish me luck my dear blog readers, keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well and that my make up will look good with the lighting, Oh yes and that all the students will learn how to crochet my Chamomile & Sage pattern with joyful hearts, xxMo
