E and myself, 2 winter lovers were born in the hot days of summer with only 18 days difference between us. E is 18 days older than me. And since we were born in the same hospital I always joke that his mom cleared the bed in the maternity ward and then my mom came to give birth to me.

It’s not that we are a big on celebrations type of couple, the opposite is correct. But we do love and enjoy the fact that we celebrate our birthdays together. We actually really appreciate it. Last year we spent 10 days in NYC to mark our 50’s and we both really loved it. This year, like in every other year, we enjoy the simple casual Bday’s version. Which means dinner and Bday cake with candles and the 5 of us dancing like crazy in the living room. Last Friday, on E’s Birthday, Maya our eldest, planed a nice morning in Tel Aviv for us, which I shared on my IG stories. The boys were busy in some other events so it was just us with Maya. She took us to a few very cool and special places in the city. It was the loveliest morning and my heart was full of gratitude.

If you are here for a while you already know that, on July 4 years ago, my mom passed away. Just in the same month she gave me life. So July as you can imagine is a mixture of all the feelings for me us. Sorry if this is the 4th time you read about it but I still can’t leave it out of a Bday blog. It’s part of my life and my heart is filled with my mom’s love each year more and more. This is a miracle and I thank god for that.

So, for an autumn winter soul like me and with July being a little bit too hot and overwhelming, I find a tremendous amount of happiness in the tiny little everyday things. Like the first coffee of the day that I usually pair with some knitting or crochet. Like finishing up a new pair of hand knitted socks. Or like the beautiful lyrics in the July Tree played by Nina Simone on my playlist while on my morning tidy up routine. Reminding me that true love seeds were placed in the autumn ground.

My new raffia bag is being shaped, can’t wait to show it to you, it’s almost done now. It’s really hard for me not to share it with you while it’s been blocked here at my studio, right behind me. Just a little bit of patience and I’ll share it in its full size and shape.
