The Sunny Scarf, my new crochet pattern is now available on Ravelry and Etsy. This time the model is Maya, our daughter. I needed this little scarf in my life and we made quite a few Sunny scarves here on the CrochetObjet knitting clubs on the last few weeks. We are totally in love. My new crochet pattern is now available with a 20% off because I want to celebrate a special milestone with this pattern release.

Hello Hello Hello!

Sunny Scarf crochet patternToday’s blog is all about my new crochet pattern and an exciting milestone I just reached with my little CrochetObjet knitting journey. But I just want you to know that EVERYTHING in life now is under the darkness of war days. Under the darkness of STILL having hostages kept in the dark in Gaza by the hands of brutal terrorists. Everything in life is under this shadow and releasing a new pattern is no exception.

Sunny scarf patternYesterday I added the Sunny scarf to Ravelry and Etsy. I thought it would be helpful if I’d share a dedicated blog post so you have all the details before you jump into this SO joyful making. But it is also for me so that I have it here in my virtual making journal.

The Sunny Scarf crochet patternWhile this WIP was in its early stage, back at the end of 2023, a  few of my followers reached out asking if I could come up with a little scarf pattern. A simple, easy and quick crochet scarf. Some even mentioned the Sophie scarf by PetitKnit and asked if I can come up with a crochet version. I was very flattered and here I am today with my new crochet design. The first one for 2024! The SUNNY SCARF definitely meets all these requirements. It’s not just simple and easy but it is also a very quick crochet project and makes a beautiful gift in no time.

The design journey

suuny scarf crochet patternThe entire process of this design was such a pleasure. I think it was mainly because my friends in the CrochetObjet weekly groups were quite involved in this making. They were so enthusiastic about it  from the very first sample I made. Their enthusiasm encouraged me throughout the process. They helped me with quite a few decisions along the way such as sizing and choosing the border stitches. They also were kind enough to test my new crochet pattern even when it was only a draft.

sunny scarf crochet patternI’m so grateful for them, it made the whole designing journey more meaningful. I had this design in my head for a while. I needed this little scarf in my life and they felt just the same. So it made it easy because I had the ‘end customer’ involved in the entire process. The result is an easy crochet pattern and we already made a few Sunny scarves each. I shared quite a few of them in my weekly episodes on YouTube.

The pattern

Sunny Scarf crochet patternThe Sunny scarf is worked back and forth from tip to tip, using double crochet and single crochet rows. The double crochet rows start and end with a little border decoration stitches. After the scarf is done you can wear it as is or choose to add the Sunny border using the border chain stitches that were made at the beginning of each dc row.

Size

Sunny Scarf crochet patternThe Sunny scarf crochet pattern comes in two sizes: small and large. The small size is approx. 35″/89 cm long the large size is approx. 51″/130 cm long. If you choose to add the Sunny crochet border it will add up a little tiny bit to the size of the scarf.

Yarn & hook

Though I crocheted my original samples with Cashmere classic by Cardiff and with Cashmere premium by Lang, any other yarn you like will do the work. For the one Maya is modeling I used a little leftover of La Bien Aimee Merino sport.

The lovely KnitNite and Monday’s girls made it out of a variety of different yarns and so did my testers. So PLEASE work with ANY yarn you like or have in your stash. This is THE pattern for stash busting. I used a 3.5 mm hook. Make sure to work with the hook size that your yarn calls for though keep in mind, we want a soft fabric.

Though the majority of this scarf is simple and satisfying double crochet and single crochet stitches, you will also crochet a few special stitches such as: Picot stitch, dc2tog and dc3tog. For these I created video tutorials which will make it easier even if you are a beginner.

These will cover everything you need to know in order to crochet the Sunny Scarf. I write my patterns using US crochet terms so just be aware. On another note: I’m a left handed crocheter but I teach mainly right handed so you might find it helpful.

20K sales on Esty

Earlier this week my little CrochetObjet shop reached 20K sales, woah! I am over the moon. It was my husband’s idea to open up an Etsy shop for me, back in 2013. Building up my Etsy shop has been a labor of love for me since then. I remember looking at well established shops when mine was just making its baby steps out there. 20K sales looked so far away and in some way even unreachable. It took more than 10 years to reach this milestone, but I enjoyed each and every moment and feel blessed that I get to do what I love. Sunny Scarf crochet pattern

Enjoy 20% off

I’m very grateful to anyone who visits and favorites my shop. I appreciate each and every order placed more than I can ever express. So, this weekend, acknowledging this 20K milestone, I want to give something back. This weekend everything in both my Etsy and Ravekry shops will be 20% off. No code needed. This way we can celebrate both the release of the Sunny scarf pattern and the 20K sales together. Sale ends on Monday March 11th midnight Jerusalem time. Thank you for bringing my shop to this milestone.

And if you made it up to this point, I want to share something special with you. I published the Sunny Scarf crochet pattern yesterday, March 7th. It used to be my mom’s birthday. So if you asked yourself why I haven’t uploaded a new episode this week, It’s not just because I had a lot to get done with the release of a new pattern. It’s also because I wanted to visit her on her birthday and tell her about it.

Sunny, thank you for the love you brought my wayYou gave to me your all and allAnd now I feel ten feet tallSunny, one so true, I love you
