I have this hexagon pincushion on my desk for quite a while. I guess you have seen it on my IG and FB posts or even here on my blog. it’s always here on my desk, part of the busy desk layout. I made it a long time ago and since then, this sweet little puffy flower is adding some colour and happiness into my everyday working hours. DSC_8263aI made it just for fun, for colours, for trying different stitches and crochet techniques and never had a special pattern, or diagram. If I’m not mistaken, I think it was the first hexagon I’ve ever crocheted. It was really a fun project that flew out of my hook and I just love the way it came out. This hexagon cotton pincushion became a constant part of my studio desk decoration.DSC_6025Usually it sits on my desk, but it goes out of the studio from time to time, for few different purposes. It’s always a part of my workshops table decoration. It is very handy during the workshop hours, goes from one side of the table to the other, with some tapestry needles and sewing pins on it, very handy and useful. IMG_20151213_150645 I also take it out with me when I work on the living room sofa, it helps me create myself a mini crafty area out of my studio. This way I can spend more time with my kids, but still have my creation energy rolling on. Like here when I crocheted Angie Bunny11259046_888599284534782_7558867326877805464_n It’s always a part of my one-on-one sessions, adding cheerfulness to the table or to any of my temporary working spots around the house. IMG_20151205_092847But usually it sits there on my desk, adding some prettiness, and beautifully merging with everything around it. IMG_20151209_160142So, it’s been a while ago when I’ve beed asked by my workshop girls, to write down a step-by-step pattern for this hexagon pincushion. I said yes of course and really wanted to make it, but couldn’t actually find the time to sit down and work on it. Now, one thing that I want to make clear here: I LOVE to create step-by-step patterns, really LOVE it – creating photographed step-by-step patterns is the most exiting part of all things I do here in my little CrochetObjet world. I love to create each and every page of my written patterns and turn it all into a one deliciously made PDF. Screenshot_20160526-090352I finally managed and somehow found the time and I can tell you for sure, it was a real real pleasure to create this pattern. This hexagon pincushion is one of the most photogenic pieces ever. I took a picture of each and every step and each picture came out prettier then the other. 8116ShirleyHere is some technique/ important information you ‘gotta’ have before you start working on this cheerful Madeleine hexagon pincushion.

Yes, of course, I gave my hexagon pincushion a name. I called it Madeleine. Inspired by this gorgeous American jazz singer, songwriter, and guitarist Madeleine Peyroux, whom I became familiar with, just last month, by a freind of mine. I got so in love with her and I was listening to her songs during the process of this pattern writing. She is just so GORGEOUS, I’m having a major crush on her at the moment, her voice is so deep, puffy, touching. Look for her on youtube, They say she is the new Billy Holiday. Hope you’ll love her as much as I do.

MdeleineFBSo, would you like to have a Madeleine pincushion on your desk or craft little corner? would you give it a try and crochet one of your own? I’m so sure you’ll enjoy every moment of this little project. My workshop girls were so happy to crochet it and made few different colour combinations, which I’ll share with you on my next blog post. We have one more workshop here, at the end of this month. My plan is to share May workshops inspiring moments on my next blog post. We had few great projects here on our latest meetings that I would really love to share here with you sooooooon xoxMo.
