It was like few weeks after I quit my ‘big job’ when I had this conversation with my sister :: told her I desperately need my own little corner ::  just one little desk of mine where I can gather my ideas and my creation energy all together :: a little place for me :: few days later I had a small wooden platte getting dried, outside at our back balcony, with a fresh pale blue colour on it :: old-StudioThis pale blue wooden plate became my desk :: It started from just one little corner taken at my husband’s home office :: as mentioned in my about page the rest is history :: But I really want to share with you this little moment when I realised that after quitting my job, I did’t have my own office anymore and I missed it :: I missed my own desk with all my things beautifully organised on it :: I think this was the moment when I realised that having a little creation corner is a huge part of me being a designer :: it’s really nice to have a pretty basket with yarns and hooks beside the sofa in the living room or to have a huge pile of magazines and inspiration book beside the bed but it was’t enough :: a little desk was missing here ::11so here I am today sharing my little creation corner with my husband E, in a spare bedroom :: overlooking a little balcony garden :: It is unbelievable how it slowly became what it is today, not to mention, with almost zero money invested :: not in one day of course :: and it’s always in a move :: I always add something or take out something :: it’s part of my design state of mind and definitely is a reflection of my mood :: Now after a while having my little home studio I think it is really what I was looking for :: something beautiful and inspirational but also very useful :: the journey of creating a home studio that is both inspiring and practical is an ongoing journey for me :: and I’m so thankful for that :: 8My new recycled wooden desk is made by my talented friend Omer Avivi who is not just very creative but also has a smart approach for proportions and different materials :: 2 9This shelving unit was originally made for Maya (our eldest) I planed it for her newborn princess room :: it was such a perfect baby station in her first room :: before it moved to our home studio it was full with boys toys at our boy’s room :: thinking of it, we actually used it for few different functions since we first had it in Maya’s room ::1And this shelving unit is also a recycled wood we had in our first apartment, ages ago ::   541667The Granny Kit cotton collection is all set by colour groups in some custom made Birch boxes :: at first I only ordered 3 of them and slowly added more and more as the cotton collection grow up to almost 80 different colours :: this way of organising my cotton colours in small boxes is actually very portable so when I have a workshop out at our living room we all move them out to the kitchen island together ::17And this frame is showing the “meeting point” of our tables next to each other :: see his mess at the side of the Dutch shoes? :: This white lacy shelf on the green ikea shelf is from eina :: we live very close here in the same neighbourhood :: I love her laser cut products for home :: the shelf is waiting to be hanged somewhere in the studio :: not sure yet where to hang it :: I have 3 different pretty options/places… not easy…1819Our back balcony is one of the most exciting things about our studio as it has a very nice view and in a clear weather day we can see Jerusalem mountains from here :: but even just getting a bit of fresh air while working is really a gift :: or just to sit and think of something new… or just looking inside…
